We start every new safari holiday enquiry with an indepth Africa safari briefing.
Our safari briefing far exceeds a few questions on an enquiry or contact us form. It won’t take just a few minutes, it may take twenty minutes or more because for us, it’s important to learn everything about you, your travelling party and what you seek in an African safari holiday.
Some say it’s our secret weapon to designing outstanding safari holidays and safari tours for all of our guests, whether you are a solo safari traveller, a honeymoon safari seeker, a family safari seeker or group safari tour enthusiast!
From here, we have a team brainstorming session on skype so both offices (Brisbane, Australia and Johannesburg, South Africa) can contribute to ideas and allow us to think outside the box, utilising the very latest in safari holiday offerings to ensure we meet and exceed your African safari holiday expectations.
What you can expect after the briefing is an email with links to a few different digital itineraries for inspiration within 24 hours. Each one is designed based on the briefing and gives you an idea of what we have in mind for your trip. The detail is impressive with maps, summaries of accommodation (descriptions, photos, videos and brochures), destination content and more. Whilst you look at the safari holiday digital itineraries we continue liaising with our preferred properties and partners on the ground to seek availability and costings based on your prerequisites (time, budget, style etc).
Within 48 hours you have a full itinerary proposal that outlines the trip, land arrangements and costings. This can include international and regional airfares, land arrangements and travel insurance.
We believe in trust, commitment and care. We want you to trust that our team is committed and genuinely care about your holiday as if it were their own. Likewise, we work with guests who we trust will always be open and honest with us and enjoy the process of planning a safari holiday from concept to travel completion!
We are hands on people, we like forming great relationships with our guests, we love a laugh and will always be a phone call or email away if you need anything throughout the process.
Once you book, you are privy to an online Safari Concierge via unique username and password so you and only you can access your itinerary, flight tickets, insurance policy and loads of helpful information so you can prepare for your departure.
There is also an Extras section so you can browse at leisure and book things like helicopter flights, high teas, city tours and more.
When you get on that plane, you have a luxury travel pack in your hands that we’ve prepared and express posted to you (if you live within Australia or New Zealand, otherwise you will get it upon landing in Africa), your online safari concierge available plus our Guests in Africa service kicks in with 24/7 contact for peace of mind.
This is run by our Johannesburg office so it’s the same/similar time zone.
We are always one step ahead of you, checking that arrangements are in order and assisting when you need it.
Upon return we have a safari de-brief, just as important as the first briefing. We love to hear about your safari holiday experience and that includes the good, bad and ugly. We rarely get complaints and when we do, it’s often things that attract us to Africa in the first place – slower schedules, running out of currency in ATMS or being picked up after a light aircraft flight lands in a remote airstrip by the wrong five star lodge who want to whisk you away for a gin and tonic in the bush because your driver got a flat tyre on the way. The vehicle then meets up with you and you swap over and game drive to camp. These are all things that have happened in 2016… remember TIA. This is Africa. It is not a western first class world like you know it here. So remember that when someone calls you Mr or Mrs and assume you share the same surname because you are married or if your name is spelt incorrectly on the flight list for a light aircraft flight.
Now you have travelled with us, you’re part of the Tribe. Our tribe are committed to positively promoting Africa. You have been one of the privileged few in the world to see it with your own eyes and we value your help to spread the word of its beauty and plight for conservation of wilderness, wildlife, culture and heritage.
Does this sound like the type of service you would like when planning your luxury African safari holiday? Yes? Well let’s book in a time for your safari Briefing. We can do that over the phone, skype or in person if you are based in Brisbane/South East Queensland. Our office is in Hendra and our briefing session is conducted in the boardroom with maps, videos, and more to ensure it’s visual and exciting from the outset. Coffee of course, or beer and wine after a certain time of day.. is always on hand.
We are open Monday to Friday, 09h00 – 17h00 and outside of these hours by advance appointment only. We are flexible – we are a family business with small children and know the busy schedules most of us lead!
