When to Go

Depending on where you want to go, there may be some months better than others. Keep in mind July and August will always be busier and a little more expensive as it’s high season due to the summer holidays in the USA, UK and Europe. Due to the small size of our group safari tours, availability is best secured by booking well in advance.  South Africa is outstanding all year round. Namibia and Botswana are also great all year round depending on your preferred season and temperature!  Kenya small group tours and Tanzania tours run most of the year and timing is often determined by what part of the wildebeest migration you wish to see. Don’t forget Rwanda and Uganda group tours for effortless travel.

Good to Know

We work directly with the owners and operators of all the small group tours we have selected and meet with them at least twice a year to discuss any changes to the program, new guides, vehicles and so forth.  In addition, we liaise regularly to ensure we are up to speed with any changes made due to environmental changes so we get you on the best Africa tour for outstanding safari holiday experiences.

Botswana Explorer

This is an awesome and intimate Botswana tour with just 6 guests so you are guaranteed a window seat. Your first night is in Nairobi where you’ll meet your group and guide before heading off on a circuit to Lake Nakuru for a night, Masai Mara for two nights, Serengeti two nights, Ngorongoro two nights, Tarangire one night and Amboseli National Park two nights before arriving back to Nairobi. Fantastic game drives in custom built vehicles (not buses!) optional hot air ballooning safari and regular departure dates.

Namibia’s Ultimate

It’s our largest tour with minimum two and maximum sixteen travelling between places in air conditioned luxury coach and then when in safari areas, you change over to open sided 4×4 vehicles for the ultimate game viewing experience. Not just about wildlife, this grand tour of South Africa takes in the picturesque Panorama Route, Swaziland and Zululand for culture, Kruger and Hluhluwe-Umfolozi for wildlife, iSangaliso Wetlands for UNESCO grandeur, Durban and Cape Town for cosmopolitan city and culture plus world famous Garden Route and inland Route 62.  You also get time in the stunning Cape Winelands for a sample of your favourite vino.

Zimbabwe Showcase

A country few people consider for their safari holiday tour, Zimbabwe offers amazing spectacles, a diversity of areas, cultures and wildlife. This luxury safari tour offers road and light aircraft travel, beautiful accommodations and diverse activities. First stop, Matobo Hills, Cecil Rhode’s grave and national park for a cultural and historical beginning. Next it’s off to Hwange National Park for big wildlife spotting like elephants, plains game and predators. From here, the mighty Mana Pools for the Zambezi river safari where you game drive, walk and canoe safari. Your safari finale is the cracking Lake Kariba, one favourite spot in the country to relax and take in Africa’s finest sunsets, wildlife viewing from the water’s edge before you transfer back on light aircraft to Victoria Falls.

Best of Uganda

An awesome Uganda tour, this trip sees you Gorilla tracking, chimpanzee tracking in Kyamburu Gorge, bird watching and game driving in Queen Elizabeth National Park plus a phenomenal safari boat trip. Along the way, you transfer in light aircraft and vehicles to ensure no long days on the road and instead, maximising your time to take in and savour every Uganda safari moment. The timing allows for two gorilla activities which you must request at time of booking because it is subject to availability due to limited spaces each day. Accommodation is in good quality lodges and camps and it departs at least once a month and twice a month in high season.

The Great Wilderness Journey

This is style when it comes to a small group classic safari tour. Rather than mobile camping where you move in 4×4 and set up camp each time, you stay in permanent tented camps and fly in by light aircraft. So your time in 4×4 is for the fun side – game viewing! First stop is the majestic Victoria Falls before flying to Chobe for its river and national park abundant with animals. Then it’s on to Linyanti and its game rich floodplains. Fly to Khwai for three nights in the Delta before your finale in the heart of Delta wetlands experiencing traditional mokoro safari.
