When to Go Safari Style
Boating is fantastic in many of the countries and mostly all year round whilst fishing is more seasonal. House boating on Botswana’s Chobe River and Zimbabwe’s Lake Kariba is best between March and November to avoid the rains. The Zambezi River accessible from Zambia and Zimbabwe is world class fly and tiger fishing and available all year round. The best time is September to March.
When to Go Beach Style
Available all year round, sailing around Mauritius and Seychelles is luxurious whilst Madagascar offers affordable sailing in adventure style. The Indian Ocean offers outstanding deep sea fishing for varieties like barracuda, wahoo, marlin, tunas and more. The best time to deep sea fish especially off Zanzibar is September to early December and again February to April. South Africa boasts some 3,000 kilometres of coastline plus outstanding lakes, rivers, streams and dams for fishing enthusiasts.
