The Safari Briefing
This itinerary was experienced by the Cail Family.
This itinerary was especially designed for the family of five who wanted to offer their three children the opportunity to see the very best landscapes and wildlife in East Africa. Parameters were clear – a slower pace so they could enjoy locations and facilities, private guides to ensure the ultimate family safari experience and the chance to see wildebeest migrating on the open plains.
We created a half fly-in safari and half private mobile safari exploring Kenya and Tanzania, taking in five different destinations in two countries. Accommodation was nicely balanced with some hotels to ensure kids got access to facilities like swimming pools, curio shops and computers and of course tented camps for the under canvas experience.
Thank you Encompass Africa for the time you put into organising everything from beginning to end to ensure we all had the best time possible. Our guide, Saimon helped us get the most out of everyday – he was very professional, knowledgeable, punctual, thoughtful and obliging at all times. Saimon was always smiling, enthusiastic and genuinely enjoyed his job – we couldn’t have had a better guide.
The ‘northern circuit’ offers many diverse safari opportunities – we visited many national parks with their ever changing scenery, saw an abundance of wildlife including the ‘big 5’, stayed in a variety of great accommodation, ate way too much good food, met many friendly locals, watched many beautiful African sunsets and overall had an absolutely incredible safari.
Ndutu, with its abundance of wildlife especially cats was our favourite spot and a place we could have stayed longer. Over the twelve days we had many wonderful experiences but our cat sightings in Ndutu provided us with some of our most memorable safari moments. Watching a cheetah and her 4 young cubs interacting as the sun was going down and then again the next morning was very special. As was a cheetah and her 2 older cubs playing and climbing over a fallen tree in the early morning.
Overall Encompass Africa created a holiday of a lifetime for our family – we have so many great safari memories and would do it all again in a heartbeat!
