The Safari Briefing
Experienced by Clare & Nicholas. A mother and son came to us wanting a walking safari in South Luangwa originally and we soon convinced them that it may not be most suitable given one was carrying a sporting injury that prevented long periods of walking.
With knowledge and experience in Zambia and Zimbabwe, guests were really specific about a diversity of experiences in the best wildlife areas with comfortable camps, nothing over the top.
We worked closely with them providing Zambia and Zimbabwe options to consider and this was the outcome!
Encompass Africa organised all internal flights and land arrangements to ensure an effortless experience for Nic and his Mum.
Guests experienced camps owned by our friend Beks, meet him here.
We even got to see wild dogs on a chase through camp! Sunset drinks on the river bed was lovely. Our holiday absolutely met our expectations and our guides were all outstanding. Mike in Somalisa camp was very experienced and had a lovely sense of humour so really made our time fun.
Our other outstanding guide was Lovemore who did not guide us at Kanga camp but did the guiding at the river and was exceptional. We also walked with him which was amazing. He has been with Parks Board at Mana Pools for 15 years and recently joined Beks so we could not have wished to have a more experienced guide. The accommodation was excellent.
The accommodation at Kanga camp being a newer camp was the best of the camps. The Zambezi river style camp is a mobile camp so not being a permanent camp is obviously more rustic but for us perfect. Food probably best at Kanga but excellent generally in all the camps. In all the camps we were exceptionally well looked after. I think the 8 day safari special was a wonderful mix of 3 different camps and different bush experiences. Thanks again Encompass Africa – outstanding.
